Israel says 300,000 troops now deployed near Gaza
Jonathan Conricus, a spokesman for the Israeli military, says some 300,000 troops are now stationed near the Gaza Strip for the war with Hamas.
“What we are doing in these areas close to the Gaza Strip, is that we have deployed – actually we have sent – our infantry, armoured soldiers, our artillery corps and many other soldiers from the reserves – 300,000 in numbers – in different brigades and divisions and they are now close to the Gaza Strip, getting ready to execute the mission… that we have been given by the Israeli government,” he said in a video posted to X.
“And that is to make sure that Hamas at this end of this war won’t have any military capabilities by which they can threaten or kill Israeli civilians.”

Gaza's sole power plant will shutdown within hours, authorities warn
The sole power plant in the besieged Gaza Strip is set to shutdown “within hours due to the depletion of fuel,” the media office of the government in the besieged enclave said.
Gaza has been pounded by Israeli airstrikes since Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel Saturday.
In addition, Israel has imposed a total blockade of Gaza that includes cutting off water, food and fuel.
The Gaza Power Plant is now the only source of the enclave’s minimal amount of electricity. Hospitals treating wounded have had to work without power.
