To keep your chain in top confition it is recommended that you lubricate your chain every 500km or 300 mile of riding and clean and lubricate your chain every 1,000 km or 600 miles. You also need to clean and lube your chain after racing or a long highway ride and after riding in wet weather to avoid rusting.
