Hi,
I need some help deciding what camera equipments to bring. I am taking a world tour with 88 people for 23 days and the trip leaves next week.
Some of countries /places we will be visiting: Machu Picchu, Peru; Angkor Wat, Cambodia; Lhasa, Tibet; Taj Mahal, India; Serengeti, Tanzania; Luxor, Egypt..etc
Equipments I am considering bring: Canon 1DS MKII, Canon Rebel XTi (400D), 24-70L, 85 f1.2 II, 70-200 IS L, 1.4X II extender
Equipments I am thinking of bring: 580 EX flash, Canon 16-35L, 2X II extender
Questions:
1. Am I bringing too much equipment with me on this trip? They do limit one camera bag and I have to hand carry it in additional to a backpack. The rest of luggage has to be checked. I am limited to one bag and weight. If I need to bring more than a bag can hold, some items may have to be leave inside the checked luggage. Suggestion?
2. Some of countries are in higher elevation. I am not sure if I want to carry alot of weight in such places. I still remembered I got heat stroke once carrying two lens down the Utah canon at 105 degrees, it wasn't pleasant. At most places, I definitely need wide angle lens. On the other hand, I will need long lens in Africa. Any lens I don't need or must have?
3. Should I bring both cameras or just one?
4. So far I think I am giving up bringing a tripod and 580EX flash, I still can not decide on lens and cameras to bring.
I am sorry I can not type Chinese, but I do read Chinese perfectly. I really need some suggestions and ideas in less than a week.

大家好，下個禮拜我就要出發，參加一個88人，共23天的環遊世界旅行團，我需要各位給我一些建議，好讓我決定該帶哪一些裝備出門。
以下是這一次要去的一些地方：祕魯的印加遺址-馬丘比丘；柬埔寨的吳哥窟；西藏拉薩；印度泰姬瑪哈陵；非洲坦尚尼亞的塞倫蓋提國家公園;埃及的路克索(底比斯)、智利的復活島、紐西蘭東北的薩摩亞群島跟摩洛哥等等
我是想帶兩部機身Canon 1DS MKII跟400D，鏡頭則考慮帶24-70L, 85 f1.2 II, 70-200 IS L跟1.4倍加距鏡
另外我還在考慮要不要帶外閃580 EX跟16-35L和2倍加距鏡
現在要請教各位的問題來啦
1.關於這次的旅行我會不會帶太多了?隨身的行李我只能帶一個相機包，然後把它裝在背包裡，其他的都必須要進海關託運，所以基本上我的東西不能超過一個相機包，如果裝備內容超過一個相機包可以容納的大小的話，有些東西我就必須用託運的方式了，所以請各位就這點給我一些建議吧
2.有一些國家屬於高海拔地區，我不曉得在那些地方扛著這一堆東西我受不受得了，我還記得有一次我帶了2顆鏡頭，在 Utah canon 頂著華氏105度的高溫，結果就中暑了，那實在不是個愉快的經驗。另外在即將前往的大部分區域，我一定需要廣角鏡，可是像在非洲我就得要望遠鏡頭，請各位大大就我即將要去的地方，建議我什麼鏡頭是一定要帶，什麼又是不用帶的?
3.我需要帶雙機身去嗎?還是帶一個機身就好了?
4.到目前為止我想放棄腳架跟閃燈，可是我還不能決定要帶去的鏡頭跟機身
很不好意思我這裡沒辦法打中文，可是看中文是絕對沒問題的，我真的很需要各位在這禮拜內給我一些建議，感溫蛤~~~

I recently sold one of my business and I got permission from my wife to take this trip. I told her around the world is always my dream. I want to see the world before I die and I rather do this early in my life than later.
I neglect to mention a few more places earlier because it is not well known to many readers.

Morocco
I just bought Canon Rebel XTi as a backup camera or as an alternative camera. I am not sure if I will regret it if I leave my 1DS II at home.

我會建議
1. 腳架和外閃都換成比較輕便的型號，外閃甚至可以考慮 Panasonic PE-28 這種
2. 帶大兔，不要帶第二台 DSLR 機身，85L 也不要帶，用一台畫質好一點或是廣一點的的隨身機來代替，例如 Kodak 雙鏡頭的款式就不錯。85L 是很讚的鏡頭沒錯，不過你不會需要這麼大的光圈，光圈一大背景就糊了，這樣你在家照和在泰姬瑪哈陵照背景會是一樣的
，真的想要大光圈定焦鏡，50/1.4 也許更好用。3.一機兩鏡的考慮下，你甚至可以用 16-35L 來取代 24-70L ，因為你要去的部分地方廣角的使用很重要。
4. 帶一頂遮陽效果很好的草帽以避免中暑。
5. 你的行程走起來會很辛苦的，在廿三天裡去那麼多高海拔的地方對體力是非常大的考驗，不過既然排了就要設法去 compensate，刺五加或是紅景天這種增加血球攜氧能力的東西現在就要開始喝了 (搞不好太晚了)，我可能會帶一盒高麗蔘的切片，我爹上次去 Tibet 就是差點被抬下來。
6. 看你的習慣，在 1.4X 與 2X 中間作一個抉擇，我會建議你帶 2X，因為你用的是小白 IS，要打樹下獅子可能會比較方便一點
1. 腳架和外閃是『一定』要帶的: It has to fit inside the camera bag. The one you can put on the overhead bin. I doubt they will let me carry a tripod onboard. I will bring 580EX flash then.
2. 帶大兔，不要帶第二台 DSLR 機身，85L 也不要帶，用一台畫質好一點或是廣一點的的隨身機來代替: Ok. I will bring just 1Ds II + Canon SD800IS.
不過你不會需要這麼大的光圈，光圈一大背景就糊了: I thought most places will not let you use flash, that is why I think 85L 1.2 will gives me better chance getting good photos without flash. I guess I have to make choice on which lens to bring.
3. 一機兩鏡的考慮下，你甚至可以用 16-35L 來取代 24-70L: Isn't 24 wide enough? I guess I will need to bring 16-35 then.
4. I will definitely bring big hats this time. As long as I don't carry too much stuff on me. I plan to use a small backpack to hold equipment when go out taking photos.
5. I have read other posts about Tibet and prepare for it. I plan to take medicine one day before Machu Picchu and stay on the medication for a few days in each high elevation places. I hope I am ready. 紅景天 is not available here in U.S.
6. 我會建議你帶 2X: I will bring 2X and hope 400mm is long enough to take good animal photos.
To Summarize:
So far I have got
1Ds II, 580EX flash, 16-35, 24-70, 70-200, 800IS compact camera
I have taken out rebel xti, 85 lens, but I add 580 flash, 16-35 , 800IS compact.
I don't think equipment weight less after the adjustment. My Lowepro Stealth Reporter 400AW is packed and weight alot.
I still need to cut down more weight or spread the weight and pack some of items in checked luggage. :-(
Everyone gives me good advice. I am hoping there are other choices I have not thought of yet.
