如果人不在北美, OCW-600 就無法正確顯示北美日光節約時間!
這種結果令人有點沮喪...
以下是Casio回覆給我的信:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for your inquiry.
First of all, we would like to apologize for our previous inappropriate
explanation.
We would like to explain our world time setting about OCW-600 as much
as possible.
OCW-600 has been designed to show world time by chronograph hand and we
have developed this watch model in the view of customer friendly
operation in order to avoid same kind of complicated operation.
When you turn on summer time for a city code, the watch will decide
automatically whether or not to apply the summer time or standard time
setting in accordance with the received signal as per our operation
manual.
In Taiwan, you selected HKG as your Home City and your country is far
from U.S.A., so your watch does not receive calibration signal for
daylight saving setting from U.S.A..
In this consequence, your daylight saving setting for U.S.A. doest not
work as you pointed out.
However, we understand some travelers or international business person
ｗould like to know daylight saving time by city in U.S.A..
In that case, one alternative solution is to see daylight saving time
of next city after setting DST OFF as same concept of some other
manufactures watch instead of additional operation of compulsory ＤＳＴ.

個人使用OCW-M700, 主時區 HKG, 第二時區設為 LAX (Los Angeles, GMT -8 hours), 因現在是 DST, 所以當調整到世界時區時, LAX的DST調整為ON, 即可顯示正確時間, 對時之後(以HKG為準), 再因DST ON而減一小時, 你要確定世界時間的某個時區是否正確, 可以到 http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ 對時
所以原本應該差 +8 ~ -8 = 16 小時, 因為 DST+1, 所以應該只有差 16 - 1 = 15
例如 :
Hong Kong Fri 9:35 PM
Los Angeles Fri 6:35 AM

照他這樣的邏輯 那幹嘛設定DST功能的啟動與否？
因為一旦當地有DST 那麼電波訊號也會發射出具有DST指示的電波（否則手錶怎麼判定是否要apply the summer time?） 那又何必要在手錶上啟動？
豈不是多此一舉？

水昆兄的疑問, 我也有問過Casio.
他們是說如果某個城市是可以接收到電波(不管是主時區還是世界時區), 那手動調整夏令時間就無效. 手錶就會依據接收到的電波來調整 (就是因為這個條件不夠完善,所以才造成現在我們所討論的這個問題.)
那因為歐洲也有採用夏令時間, 而OCW-600只是兩地電波錶 (日本\美國),所以這個時候手動調整夏令時間就會派上用場.
不知道這樣有沒有回答水昆兄的疑問?
