Today's visitor is Harry S. Truman, who was the 33rd president of the United States of America, from 1945 - 1953, and his Cocker Spaniel, Feller.
Truman had a number of pets. While growing up on a farm in Missouri, Truman like to ride alongside his father on a black shetland pony. He and his brother had a black and tan dog named Tandy, and a bobtailed Maltese cat named Bob.
At the White House, the Trumans owned Mide, an Irish setter, before they received Feller as a Christmas gift in 1974. Harry Truman once said, "If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog."

Today's visitor is Teddy Roosevelt, who was president of the United States of America from 1901 to 1909, and his Bull Terrier, Pete. Pete wasn't Teddy's only White House pet. He kept many animals, including bears, a zebra, a hyena, and even a pony that reportedly rode the White House elevator.
It was said Pete often chased and even bit White House visitors, and he was accused of ripping the pants off of a French ambassador in 1906, but in 1910 Pete's name was cleared as the ambassador was quoted as saying Pete and been falsely accused.
