Unfortunately, I don't know a dime about coding. Nor do I have the necessary fund to create a game myself, as video game is extremely expensive to make even for indie developers.
Actually, I am more into the publishing and translating part of the industry. That's why I asked if there's any related foreign business here, as that's what they mainly do here. Also, it's the only, though slim, chance I have for getting into the industry I loved and dreamed about.
Anyway, I'm just asking. I know the market is small in Taiwan.
About what you said about AAA games in trouble, I have to disagree though. The changes you mentioned, the shifting of design focus, people being laid off, and the rising of mobile game, I think these are in no way indicative of a, say, withering industry. The way I see it, the AAA game market is in fact expending like never before.
More specifically, shifting focus and the laying off of people are but the norm in an ever changing industry. Mobile games post no threat, either, as they are aiming for a completely different breed of gamer from the core gamers of AAA games.
So, I still have hope that the market in Taiwan may further expand in the future, and then I might have a chance of getting the job I dream of.
