MIAMI -- For the first time since going on the disabled list, Marlins left-hander Wei-Yin Chen threw off the mound. Before batting practice on Wednesday, the 31-year-old was pain free during his 20-pitch session, in which he threw all fastballs.
Marlins manager Don Mattingly watched Chen, and repeated that the best-case scenario is the veteran pitcher returning in mid-September.
