According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Lakers have agreed to acquire Anthony Davis from the Pelicans in exchange for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round picks.
Thwarted in their pursuit of Davis ahead of the trade deadline in February, the Lakers have reportedly gotten the deal done. The trade will become official on July 6. At that point Davis will team up with LeBron James and whoever the Lakers can land in free agency. And with those two at the forefront, Los Angeles' chances of reeling in a high-level free agent have improved. Per agent Rich Paul the perennial All-Star plans to go into free agency in 2020, but at the very least the Lakers will have a season to convince Davis that his long-term future should be spent wearing the Forum blue and gold. Among the three future firsts that L.A. is sending to New Orleans is the fourth overall pick in this year's draft.
