Stephen Curry Calls Donald Trump an Ass
As Under Armour attempts to distance itself from CEO Kevin Plank's support of Donald Trump, its most marketable athlete isn't holding back.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry reiterated his support for Under Armour as a company, but didn't exactly align himself with the brand's stance on the president, cleverly calling Trump an "ass." Under Armour has been under fire after Plank referred to Trump as a "real asset" during a CNBC interview last week.
“I agree with that description,” said Curry. "If you remove the 'et.'”
According to the Mercury News, Curry was surprised to see Plank praising Trump, so much that he spent part of Tuesday on phone calls with the CEO and various Under Armour representatives for clarification. Earlier today, Plank issued a statement, explaining that his pro-Trump comment was purely from a business standpoint.
