Fred VanVleet will miss at least the next three weeks of action with a partial ligament injury to his left thumb.
FVV will wear a splint for the next three weeks, but it's unclear if he'll immediately be able to rejoin the rotation once he ditches the splint, so it's possible his absence will extend beyond this three-week window. VanVleet's arrow was already pointing down with the arrival of Jeremy Lin, so there's not much incentive to hold him if you don't have an open IR-spot. Lin hasn't officially signed with the Raptors just yet, so Lowry could be forced into major minutes tonight and maybe Patrick McCaw will be more involved in the rotation.
