I am impressed, lots of people with strong grammar skills. I have to admit that my English is poor when it comes to grammatical writing. If some of you feel that I am a Chinese Nationalist, than you are wrong. I am 100% Chinese but born in Taiwan. I don't side with the KMT on most issues, but definitely not siding with the DPP. I lived in the U.S. for 30 plus years and grammar is not my strong suit. I work mostly with Taiwanese over there ( I owned a Chinese restaurant) so I kinda of losing touch with the grammar side of things, but let me assure you that no one speaks in correct sentences. I have a college degree from an accredited school and my point is not how good or bad mine English is but learning English will help Taiwan step towards the Western world. I stop telling people that I am from Taiwan when I was over there, because people just don't know where Taiwan is.

Maybe you should consider advocate your points in a western forum where you can find a match to your level of English ability.

You wouldn't want to be educated by a Taiwanese national to correct your English writing in a Taiwanese forum, would you? It could be a shame of you to find people here have better English than you do.

Yes I will move on from this forum. It's clear to me now that most people are here to vent instead of serious discussion, sour grape mentality is what I meant.

You completely miss my point.

Peace, peace is what we need in this part of the world.

We don't care what our official national language we use daily.

Language is only a tool; it could be any language.

Be that English, Chinese, Taiwanese, or Cantonese is all fine with us.

I got your message, but my point is that making English as an official language will greatly improve Taiwan's visibility around the world. Another aspect is that if all Taiwanese has English capabilities, Taiwan's average income will greatly improve. I know that a lot of U.S. companies outsource a lot of it's work load to India, especially computer related projects. The reason is simple, Indians speakers English. They don't speak good English, but enough to get by. My neighbour runs the Intel operation in Taiwan and he complains about losing his staff to the U.S. corporate office once he sends them over for training. Because once they were trained in the U.S. they starts to learn how to speak English and the corporate people pays them 5 times the salary they were paid in Taiwan, of course they stay in the U.S. Now our voting results demonstrated that we don't want Chinese ties anymore, by using the Chinese language it's not going to help our situation. I am thinking about opening new doorways for our stale economy. We have no high paying jobs in Taiwan, because we only have small business. If we take this route of using English correctly, we could be opening a doorway to decent wages. Coding and software languages are our strong suit, don't let that goes to waste and let our young people continue to suffer. politics is for people who wants to get rich but don't want to work for it. so they create hatred and divide people. But sadly people in Taiwan can't see past that.
荒謬
中國先改用殘體字
台灣繼續用繁體字就好

Then you should return to 5F, see why I said "anti-communist, not anti-China."
I have lots of Chinese mainlander friends.
You don't really know all that I have told about on this topic.

you must be joking. “not anti-China” ?? it's really a great joke.

I never mind Taiwanese pursuing independence. But I hate fraud. So let's prepare for "The Taiwan Revolutionary War". Maybe US will bless you.

What poor guys, you have no power, no willing to defense yourself. you pray for hopeless help, use lie to deceive yourself. If it's really work, you don't need to keep a mask called "republic of china" on your poorly state.

The truth is I am not poor, in reality, or mentally.
I am satisfied with the election, and I don't think it will affect my business.
But I know, you are one of the losers in this election in the end.

我是建議英、日語台灣人都要學會,並融入生活中,日本對台灣而言也很重要。
