Take Singapore for example, by using English as their official language has open a lot of doors for them. Taiwan needs the world to notice us as a nation and by using English we can achieve that better. If you ever travel to the Western world and you tell people that you are from Taiwan, they will say OK Thailand, and then you get frustrated.
