F430's engine is based on Maserati's V8 (which was designed by Ferrari), but of course, it's a better version. And Ferrari did bought Maserati but has sold it back to Fiat. But doesn't really matter, Ferrari is owned by Fiat anyways.
Well, my mother has a Quattroporte Executive GT in the US, it is expensive to maintain. First oil change ran about 600 USD. It drinks gasoline like it's free and interior controls are hard to use, especially the stereo.
But it is a dream to drive, it's a front-mid engine car and the handling is great. It's not as fast as S600 or any S-AMG cars, but it sounds much better, like a F430 but not as loud.
