National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB, abbreviated as NEVS, is a Swedish holding company, which has acquired the assets of Saab Automobile AB, Saab Automobile Powertrain AB, and Saab Automobile Tools AB from a bankruptcy estate. NEVS is majority owned by British Virgin Islands-registered, Hong Kong-based, National Modern Energy Holdings, an energy company with operations in China, Macau, and Hong Kong.
In May 2012, NEVS announced that it had submitted a bid for Saab Automobile's bankruptcy estate, and planned to run an electric vehicle business at the Saab factory in Trollhättan, Sweden.[3] On September 3, 2012, it was announced that National Electric Vehicle Sweden had finalized its purchase of Saab Automobile's bankruptcy estate.[4]
