Sorry - can't type Chinese in my company laptop... In your comment "(全程冷氣, 但超過5000轉那冷氣就自動沒啦)" -- do you mean the A/C will automatically shut-off? Is the "A/C ON" LED turns off? And it resumes ON after RPM <5K?? I didn't notice this...
The progressive shift-light is quite fascinating... In many circumstances, I raved it to 8K simply wanna see those 3 shift lights lighting up in sequence :)
US only has two models of ELISE - standard ELISE (same as ELISE-R in Europe) with 1.8L 2ZZ-GE 189hp and ELISE-SC (supercharged) 1.8L 2ZZ-GE 220hp. Mine is N/A :)
Elise / Exige fuel cut-off point will be dropped to lower RPM - if the engine has not reached normal operating temperature... For my Elise, it seems the 2nd CAM will not open till 6~6.5K - so you won't be able to really feel the "HP" if it cuts the fuel @ 7K RPM. My 1st shift light is on @ ~7.5K; 2nd one @ ~8K; then 3rd one @ ~8.5K and all three lights flashing - gear up! :)
That's why!! Same " Elise " but different engine inside. Mine is new 1.6 NA engine, it may not go over 7k I guess, I'll try though. Thanks for your information.
According to wiki, the ELISE with 1.6L engine uses the Toyota 1ZR-FAE (see bellow). The red-line could fall on 6.5K RPM. You should read the user manual carefully - do NOT over rev the engine. Do NOT rev during break-in period. Do NOT rev if engine has not reached normal operation temperature.
It should still have the progressive shift light - there are three circle lights in the area of RPM meter (see my avtor icon). It probably has been programmed to light up at 5.5K --> 6K --> 6.5K to match 1ZR-FAE engine :)
1ZR-FAE The Toyota 1ZR-FAE is a DOHC, 16-valve, 1.6 L (1,598 cc) engine also equipped with Dual VVT-i and Valvematic. Output for this engine is rated at 130 hp (97 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 118 lb·ft (160 N·m) of torque at 4,400 rpm for the Avensis.[1] Applications: Toyota Auris (ZRE151) (Europe only) Toyota Avensis (ZRT270) Toyota Verso (ZGR20) Lotus Elise 1.6
