Brightness Control problem

I have a Ipaq 3630 PPC2002, everytime I connect to external power supply, the backlight brightness is auto set to Super Bright, I had to set it to low brightness, is there a way to edit the registry to disable the brightness auto set itself to Super bright? I already unchecked the Automatic box, Thanks for any help.
