這位苦主回廠修了12次, 不過有人提到:
The nature of the gauge is that it should behave with a linear taper between full and empty. If it works when full but then malfunctions as the level drops, the variable resistor in the sending unit which is housed along with the fuel pump in the gas tank is almost certainly at fault. The sending unit will have to be replaced to fix the problem.
基本上就是那整個 Sending Unit 機構有問題, 若參考上面第一個連結的圖, 有可能是 Rod, Wiper, Floater 這三個機械連動的元件有部分鬆脫, 導致整個槓桿動作時, 沒有確實的走到電阻的正確定位. 或者是電阻本身的阻抗呈現非線性造成的.

車款不同可能有些差距, 不過大概就是長那樣.
Sending Unit 屬於 Fuel Pump 的一部分, 不能拆開單獨換, 所以可能必須將整個 Fuel Pump 換掉.
如果找得到信任的外廠, 我會去外廠換換看是否有改善? 若真的可以改善, 則把換下來的零件當成證據, 跟原廠索賠.
