With all respect, though I am not a structual engineer by training, allow me to offer a different interpretation on the safety of the panoramic sunroof. Tiguan with or without the sunroof, unless there is cross beam on the ceiling, structual wise, makes no difference if sunroof is installed or not. The structural integrity will depend on the top roof cage strength, the roof surface is just a at thin sheet of metal with no structural support. As long as the rivoting points of the roof structural, which allowing this option, has been strong enough, I really doubt if this really impact safety. Proof me if I am wrong. I really doubt any carmaker will provide data that shows adding this panoramic sunroof will affect safety? But who knows? Maybe there are reports by third party that shows otherwise. Just my opinion, no offense!
