I bought a 2011 model Cayenne Diesel from Porsche authorized dealer, Universal Motors Limited Taiwan in 2011. My VIN number is (請填您的車身號碼). The car was delivered to me in May, 2011
Recently, a newspaper report uncovers that all the 2011 model Cayenne Diesel imported by Universal Motors was not equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) as it should have been according to Cayenne owner's manual. As an owner of this reported Cayenne Diesel, I have received a letter from Universal Motors apologizing for the absence of DPF in my car.
I purchased this vehicle based on the knowledge from Universal Motors advertising materials that the Cayenne Diesel is an environmentally-responsible/friendly car. The advertising materials specifically state the 2011 model Cayenne Diesel meets EURO 5 emission standards and also is equipped with DPF and Auto STOP/START function. Further, my owner's manual also specifies the operations and maintenance of DPF and Auto STOP/START function.
Universal Motors states the false information in the advertising materials is a typing error made by its staff.
I am sure Porsche headquarter in Germany already has received complaint letters from other Cayenne Diesel owners in Taiwan. I would like to know how this matter is being handled at this time and what can be done to rectify the errors made by Universal Motors. I trust the craftsmanship, superior quality, and brand name that is stood behind by most German products, ranging from WMF pots used in kitchen, Rimowa luggage, to automobiles. The Cayenne Diesel is a great car to drive and I trust Porsche will endeavor every effort to find a solution to this matter.
