Fact Check: No! Tata Has Not Sold Jaguar To Geely
A recent report from "The Autodrive” has surfaced online with the headline “Tata Offloads Jaguar To Geely”. This is a publication from Bangladesh which has filed this report on its website and has shared corresponding posts on its social media handles as well.
When this report caught our eye, it did raise suspicion. Tata Motors is achieving success at a global stage with its brand JLR. So, we undertook some research and we figured out that the claims made by this publication are false.
Still we decided to double check and our team reached out to Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) teams to verify these claims. Following which both the companies confirmed this news was not true. However, no official statement has been issued for the same as the publication which had originally posted this report had revealed that this was an April Fools Day prank and the report has also since been removed.
