Q: Is this jacket fully seam sealed?
There are photos of the Windstopper Finishing tape. Is this seam sealing? And is it for all seams or just zippers and the hem?
DWR is fantastic but when you get caught in a real downpour and all you have is your softshell you always end up with water soaking through from the seams. That was my only issue with my last softshell.
A: The Venta AR jacket has finishing tape, but they are not seam sealed.

What is the reason for not gully seam taped jacket since I notice that many other manufacturers using same material combination also offer fully seam taped design?

A:The Venta MX Hoody is designed as a windproof but not waterproof garment, and because of this we do not seal its seams. The inner face of the fabric edges is skived (shaved) to create a better surface for seam tape to adhere to, and then seam tape is applied to the seams to provide a smooth finish more than anything. The seams do look like they are seam sealed and it is a similar process, but we do not consider these seams to be sealed.
We only seal seams on fabrics that we market as being waterproof, and feel that this is the only time where seam sealing is warranted.
There are no plans to change the Venta MX Hoody in the foreseeable future.
