here is a short excerpt from the magazine I read about the coupe's 2.0L turbo model recently.

Hyundai's 4B11T/Theta II is more like a close cousin, rather than sibling, to Mitsu's 4B11T. Although the engine family is basically the same, the 4B11 used on the EVO X features a semi-closed deck, and forged pistons and rods, while the Genesis Coupe utilizes an open-deck design, cast pistons, and powder-sintered rods. Pushing over 18 psi of boost through the Genesis block would be ill-advised.
And at one of the occasion we did have a 3.8L V6 participated in our event, and briefly chatted with the owner on his experience driving the car so far. He said he test drove the 2.0L Turbo and which just lacks torque to push the Genesis coupe of its weight, that's why he ended up w/ the 3.8L. While we were checking out the car, we counted and found out that it came with Brembo 6 pot front, 4 pot rear brake calipers stock!!!
Always interesting to see new players enter the field. But will this Genesis coupe beat STi / EVO on motor sports like time attack hot lapse etc., I doubt that. (at least not anytime soon)
