Clicquot香檳之聞名得歸功於1850年接掌該家族事業的Mme Clicqtou（祈歷高夫人），原名Nicole-Ponsardin的祈歷高夫人，於二十七歲成為寡婦，繼承丈夫所留下的事業，她的膽識，心智，精力使祈歷高香檳主宰了俄國市場前後達五十年，而且在法國市場也佔有一席之地，1863年，她以89歲之齡逝世，這隻香檳年銷量達三百萬瓶，她是香檳區知名的寡婦之一。
祇力高夫人生前就被尊稱為Grande Dame de la Champagne（香檳貴婦），1972年，該公司為慶祝兩百週年，推出La Grande Dame（貴婦香檳），這是該品牌一隻知名的代表作。
香檳貴婦所釀造的葡萄是來自八個特級葡萄園，這些葡萄園是在18世紀時，已屬於祈歷高夫人的產區，它是由60%的Pinot Noir與40%的Chardonnay所釀成，成金黃色澤，充滿花果香味，口感柔細，這支香檳常是市場最豪華的3或4隻香檳之一。
該酒廠的釀酒師Frederic Panaiotis曾來台，介紹國人認識這品牌的香檳，亞都酒店的巴黎1930法國餐廳，曾為此舉行一場《祈歷高香檳之夜》，品嘗《黃牌香檳》，89年份香檳與89年份的《貴婦香檳》。

只在豐收年釀造，只在採用特級及頂級葡萄園內的20~25種最佳葡萄。其中三分之二為比諾羅瓦紅葡萄，三分之一為夏多內白葡萄，小比例的比諾曼尼紅葡萄使得酒體更趨完整。
口感
金牌年份香檳口感醇厚，香濃高雅中仍帶有凱歌典型的濃郁果香，純淨的沁香依舊和諧地並存其中。新酒佐以魚類海鮮或做開胃酒飲用皆可，舊酒則可搭配肉類料理飲用。

"I was fortunate to have the newly released 1999 Dom Pérignon, which is a spectacular Champagne . Based on one bottle, I would not rate it as highly as the 1996 or 1990, but it is much better than the 1998, and appears to have more body and richness than the 1995, also a top-notch vintage. The 1999 should have at least 20 years of life ahead of it."
