I can confirm that different materials are used in the devises across the globe. So handsets in Taiwan will be slightly different to ones bought in the UK.
If you buy one in the UK you will receive a SLCD, 480x800 px screen

根據國外一個專門研究面板的網站所證實的消息..
HTC must switch the smartphone display from Amoled to LCD at there smartphone series, because Samsung Mobile Display can not deliver so much AMOLEDS for HTC and to all other customers.
HTC Desire Z and Desire HD have different Super LCD screens: HTC Desire-Z has a Super LCD from Sony, the HTC Desire HD a LCD from Sharp.
這句話強調了Desire HD使用了一塊來自Sharp的LCD (也被他稱為different Super LCD screens)

Desire Z確確實實使用的是3.7吋來自SONY廠的SLCD.
而Desire HD也是使用"S"LCD，但並非來自SONY廠，而是Sharp.
理由是 : HTC宣稱目前還沒有4.3"的SLCD (至少來自SONY廠沒有)，
但是~歐版Desire HD的面板所宣稱的SLCD，恐怕指的是來自Sharp的"S"LCD
而Sharp廠所生產的這塊"S"LCD...

HTC大概是了解這塊面板還是沒有SONY廠的SLCD來的先進，故稱為一般TFT-LCD

目前我還查證不到關於Sharp廠所生產給Desire HD用的這塊"S"LCD的製程資料
(如有其他網友有資訊可以補足它)
左邊為AMOLED版Desire (就當SONY SLCD與它同級) / 右邊為Sharp LCD版Desire HD
大家可看出可視角差AMOLED(SLCD)一個層級
故應該不是ASV TFT (所以被HTC婉轉的說是一般TFT)

所以正確解答就是 :
歐版的Desire HD的確可能是使用"S"LCD (但是Sharp廠生產的TFT-LCD)
但絕不可能用的是SONY廠的Super LCD (因為還沒4.3"這個製程)
所以台版的也是同一塊Sharp面板啦~ (但未達SONY Super LCD的水準...)
註 : 這裡補充一下，該文上提到的SONY面板廠，指的就是S-LCD股份公司，位於南韓忠清南道牙山市湯井，是日本新力（Sony）與南韓三星電子（SAMSUNG）雙方各持股50%所共同合資，專門生產TFT-LCD液晶電視所需液晶面板的公司。 (我簡稱SONY廠)
