Look no further, please go for Tamron B008. You will be super happy with it.
I am a Canon 550D user and I have to tell you Tamron fits my 550D with great pleasure and convenience.
I also wondered when choosing between Sigma 18-250mm and Tamron B008. After checking out a lot of reviews and test on internet and hundreds of pics from Flickr.com; I decided that B008 is a great travel lens for me.
Although Sigma 18-250mmOS is yet another great lens but you will have to accept the fact that between 135 to 250mm is kindda soft and you will need to step down your aperture to F7.2 to rise up the sharpeness. On the other hand, Tamron B008's 135 to 270mm is still relatively sharp at open aperture.
Also, the VC from B008 is amazing. It works like as if your lens is sticking on the image. In my opinion, B008's VC is even better than my C15-85mm. B008's PZD is another great feture for such super zoom lens. In my opinion, PZD is slower than Canon's Ring type USM but not far behind.
Do yourself a favor, check both lense's pics out in Flickr.com and see for yourself.

Humn.. I recommand you to try it and see for yourself. Although B008's VC is very close to B003's VC, I think B008 still performs better.
Besides, the most important factor is the fact that B008 really produces better image quality than B003.
Compare them and check the photos on Flickr then you will see. Also, lots of professinal review on the net all think that B008 is better than B003.
However, before you buy B008, I still recommand you to test focus on every focal lenth before you pay.
