最近我問了Canon USA技術支援一個問題：
G9並不會自動偵測套筒是否裝上，使用者需要進入menu中設定。然而，有時候套筒裝上了，但是忘了在menu中開啟；有時候套筒拔下了，忘了回menu中關閉。請問，機身的套筒安裝選項錯誤設定會影響照相的品質嗎？
Canon Powershot G9 Camera User Guide (P. 241):
"When you remove the converter from the camera, return the converter setting to [Off]."
Canon的回覆：
Dear xxxxx:
Thank you for your inquiry regarding the converter setting for your G9
camera. We value you as a Canon customer and appreciate the opportunity
to assist you.
When using the converter setting, this sets the camera to optimal
setting for using the converters for the best possible image quality.
Leaving it turned on after removing the converter may degrade the image
quality of other images captured.
We hope this information is helpful to you. Please let us know if we
can be of any further assistance with your G9 camera.

我猜，如果在menu開啟套筒選項，G9應該會強制IS開啟、並且是continous模式。
