Xonar Essence STX在規格是非常強悍。在音頻質量上，該卡前端輸出信噪比高達驚人的124dB，比一般板載聲卡清晰64倍，同時耳機輸出信噪比110dB、線性輸入信噪比118dB；諧波失真方面前端輸出僅僅0.0003％，耳機輸出為0.001％，線性輸入則是0.0002％；另外頻率響應10-90KHz，耳機阻抗32-600歐姆。
聲卡本身採用PCI-E x1接口，配備華碩AV100高清音頻處理器、Burr-Brown PCM1792A DAC轉換器(信噪比127dB)、Cirrus-Logic CS5361 ADC轉換器(信噪比114dB)、德州儀器TPA6120耳放等等頂級芯片，電容普遍採用Nichicon Fine Gold，而華碩的Hyper Grounding布線技術自然也是少不了的。在聲卡尾部還有一個D型四針供電接口，搭配兩顆三洋固態電容。
擋板上的輸入輸出接口共有五個，從上到下依次是右聲道模擬輸出、左聲道模擬輸出、耳機輸出、線性/耳機輸入和數字S/PDIF輸出，均採用了鍍金設計，另外卡上還有四針Aux-in接頭。
除此之外該卡還支持可更換運放、杜比數字家庭影院、DS3D GX 2.5 3D音效引擎等技術，兼容Windows Vista/XP/MCE 2005等操作系統。

Essence STX 的配件不算多，但都很實用且重要，包括光纖轉換接頭以及大型耳機轉一般耳機的接頭。
控制介面的部分, ASUS音效卡基本上都類似
ASUS XONAR STX在驅動的部份就比較用心, 也比較人性化
最後, 好的音效卡, 要具備什麼條件, 我不知道. 我知道用你的耳朵體會每一次所聽到的聲音, 畢竟好的聲音, 並沒有那麼容易聽到. 音響絕對是條不歸路, 追求是無窮無盡的…
