SHR加硬碟升級但空間無法最大化

各位好

我使用的機型為DS1517

原本的儲存空間1的硬碟為SHR, ext4, 由3,3,6,6,4TB的硬碟共同組成約16T的容量

最近升級空間

將3,3,6,6,4TB升級為8,3,6,6,4TB時空間無法如RAID空間計算機般得到19TB, 我印像中有跳提醒說只有15.99T的樣子

但加完後並沒有得到15.99T的空間

後來又再加一顆8TB變成8,8,6,6,4TB目前才接近15.99

是否有辨法將新增空間在同一的儲存空間內做擴充?

是否是只能重建儲存空間1才得到如期的空間呢? 謝謝

簡單說,就是既有的 raid 組態你無法完全去重設.

這只是個簡單例子:
#1: 一開始用 6TB, 6TB, 4TB 組 SHR, 可用空間約 10TB

#2: 將 4TB 換為 8TB, 可用空間還是 10TB (第三顆HDD 無法利用的空間是4TB)

#3: 但如果你一開始就是 6TB/6TB/8TB, 可用空間是 12TB.

就是類似的情況.

我拿被替換下來的磁碟看 他分割是每1T做一個partition
應該不會有上面這問題才是?

自己很少用 SHR format, 剛才用了兩顆 2tb & 4tb hdd 建 SHR,
系統並沒有每 1TB 就劃一個 partition.

/dev/md3 為新建的 SHR format.

但不能合為一個我不太能理解?

是否切成1TB的跟2TB的partition不能合在一起呢?
因為這樣算的話空間滿相近的

我記得N年前舊版的ext4,上限只有到16tb
要突破這個限制就必須更新e2fsprogs的版本

但..這個問題早在n年前就修正了
沒記錯的話,應該在btrfs出現的時間點

至於為何synology沒有處理這個問題?
我就不知道了..

話說回來,我是不敢在ext4上玩挑戰極限的事啦!!
畢竟掛掉的時候,真的會暈倒...
