VMware ESXi 與 Synology NAS 筆記

iperf3 on ESXi and Synology NAS

今天試著將 Mellanox MCX354a 10g/40g 網卡裝上 ESXi server. 這張卡原是 QCBT firmware support 10GbE, 重刷 firmware 為 FCBT 後支持 40GbE, 不過現在還沒有對應的設備可以對測 40GbE. 還是先跑 10GbE mode.

就簡單的測了一下 ESXi 和 Synology ds3018xs 之間的 throughput, 確定 10G 網路正常 work.

在 synology NAS 上面已經內建 iperf3 程式, 可利用 synogear install command 啟用.

synology nas 進入 iperf3 server mode.

root@DS13:~# synogear install
root@DS13:~# iperf3 -s

從 datastore 匯入 ova file

最近從 Synology VMM 匯出 ova file, 打算移至 ESXi, 也遇到這個問題. ESXi 建立 datastore, 以 nfs mount NAS 上的 folder, ESXi 並不支持直接由 datastore 匯入 ova.

這裡有解決的方式.

以 browser 連上
http://your_esxi_server_ip/folder

可以直接取得該 ova file url, 再複製該網址匯入即可.
