[請教]如何用外部硬碟安裝作業系統的方法

可能是小弟搜尋的方向不對，找不到解決方法，所以在這邊提出，請有經驗的人傳承經驗給小弟！

我曾經看過有人利用外部硬碟開機，開機後就是安裝作業系統了。

小弟也想用此方法將外部硬碟切兩個部份。一部分存放備份資料，另外一部分就是當作系統救援安裝磁碟。

想請問一下，該怎麼用，才可以讓外部硬碟的磁區有安裝系統的功能呢？

Assume you are using an Intel-based Mac.

First, use Disk Utility to partition a 7GB HFS+ Partition; the rest could be another HFS+ partition for your data. (Figure. 1)

(I use my 512mb Memory Stick as an example, make sure the partition you prepared has 7GB of space)

Noted that in order to boot an Intel-base Mac, the partition table must be in GUID format. (Figure 2)

Then, after the partitions are ready, insert your Mac OS X Install DVD.

Go to Disk Ultiity, select your External Drive; then go to the RESTORE tab, use the Install DVD as Source, the 7G partition as target. And hit restore.

This will clone the content of the Install DVD to your External Hard Drive, and thus your External Hard Drive could boot into Mac OS X Installer. (Figure 3)

Just hit OPTION at boot when you wish to boot into the Installer.
