Can ibook 12' support external sata hard drive??

Maxtor DiamondMax 10 300GB SATA 7200RPM 16MB 9MS FDB RoHS Hard Drive 3YEARS MFR Warranty for 143.98 CAD <- This one i saw on the NCIX.com, i think its a pretty good deal...and recently i wanna buy a 7200rpm HD for my ibook 12'
but i dunno if the ibook can supprot the external hard drive.....

You cannot connect a SATA hardrive directly to an iBook.
You need an external drive box for the hardrive to stay in.

yeah......i know that...just to make sure that is ibook support the external sata HD.
so....sounds like it can...
