I know they probable are gonna get refreshed in MacWorld in Jan. 2009. Still, I have a few questions.
First, are the new Cinema Displays just like the new 24 inch? LED backlights are cool, but Mini-DisplayPort only? Don't think it's a good idea. I can live with the new looks and glossy, but lack of connectivity is a little hard to swallow.
And how about some HDMI-Mini DisplayPort or DVI-Mini DisplayPort adaptors? Are they technically possible? I want to connect my PS3 or other Macs to this one. And don't forget HDCP. Does the new LED Cinema Display support this?
Second, is 20 gonna phase out? I like its small footprint, as my desktop is already over-crowded. What's the new line-up gonna look like? 20, 24 and 30?
Finally, what's the panel of the new LED 24 inch? Looks good on paper, but how about the gamut? With LED backlight, I expect to see some good gamut performance.
Feel free to reply in English or Chinese. I just don't want to type Simplified Chinese. This is Taiwanese forum after all, right?
the new LED is super bright. feel very similier to iMac 24inch. however, i think iMac 24 has overall better viewing angle. (at least the one i saw)
it's designed for the new Macbook family. I expect iMac, Mac Pro, and Macmini will get display port very soon. (January, i guess)
as far as i know, DisplayPort is backward compatible. BUT not "forward compatible" which means you can have DisplayPort to DVI, or HDMI, but not the other way around. (i may be wrong, though)
