Very old used M35!!!

Today I went with my daughter to see her new volunteer's office and found she didn't drive her M35X slow any more...

She always drove her Nissan on the passing lane. I think she becomes faster and faster as she also becomes more and more impatient!!! I may need to put some more sticky tires like RE-003 for better safety when the current tires are worn out.

PS: These days most of cars are equipped with 7 or more speed autos. Therefore, they usually don't have good pickups(prefer fuel economy), when cruising on the highways. Even though they're performance cars like Ms, AMGs or my GSF, when cruising on highways their pickups could NOT be as good as M35X's...

There are some exceptions... One of them is STI. (Just like M35X. Running at high rpm + AWD)

Believe it or not... A STI's mpg is about as bad as M35X's!!! (Again, NO CAR is perfect)

PS: If you check 2021 STI and 2010 M35Xs' official MPGs, they both are exactly THE SAME!!!

2010 M35X's exhaust pipes after 95K kms(some still look shiny!!!) - 15% highway 85% city

2017 GSF's exhaust pipes after 58K kms- 75% highway 25% city (In M35X I still can see the raw metal clearly but in GSF I barely see the metal as the metal is completely covered by tiny carbon dusts!!!)

PS: My son's 2007 G35S also has very clean exhaust pipes like M35X's. A lot of people say Toyotas are better... How come my ultimate Toyota, GSF isn't better than our old Nissans??? (Nevertheless, so far I still believe that my GSF is still more refined OVERALL. Time will tell...)

Yesterday I had changed ATF for my daughter's M35X again. (The previous replacement was done about 1 year ago)

Again, as the car had been warmed up, I could drain a little over 4 QT old ATF out.

Now I'm confident to say M35X's auto transmission should be trouble free for at least another 5 years!!! (I will also not change its ATF again for the next 3-5 years. If I want to sell M35X when it becomes 20 year old. From now on I should never change its ATF again!!!)

PS: This time I didn't use Nissan OEM ATF. I used Idemitsu ATF which was cheaper... (I will also adopt Idemitsu ATF for my GSF when it becomes old)

There are many different TYPES of Idemitsu ATFs used for Japanese cars.

So, you need to be careful and choose the right type for your car...

For our Nissans, I have to use type S. For my GSF, I have to use TLS-LV.

Today I let my daughter drive my GSF again...

After 45 minute driving without sport/sport+ mode, I asked her which car you prefer overall??? Guess what... Even after 10 second her thinking, she still didn't answer my question!!!

Then, I told her "You don't need to give me the answer!!!". (I guess her M35X is still not bad!!!)

However, my daughter mentioned she really loved the steering in my GSF. She think my GSF's steering is really great!!! (Actually M35X's steering is also not bad...)

Today my daughter had driven her M35X for 100 kms to work... (50 kms one way. America is BIG!!!)

She confirmed that her M35X was still good. (Of course, my GSF's steering was great but she think her M35X's steering was not bad at all)

She also mentioned the below two areas she liked more in her M35X:
1. Better visibility. (So, more relaxed and less tired in M35X... Sitting low is a really dumb idea for most of the people!!!)
2. More comfortable seat. (Again, more relaxed and less tired in M35X)

So, my daughter doesn't like performance cars!!!

Last summer I spent 90USD and took my son's 2007 G35S to a private repair shop for a complete checkup and the repair shop couldn't find any problem on the car...

So, this year I decided to take my daughter's 2010 M35X to an Infiniti dealer(as Infiniti dealer should know the car better.)

Guess what... They found A LOT OF problems!!!

The below is the result...

Yes. They found a lot of problems but NONE of them is significant!!!

1.ENGINE DRIVE BELT IS CRACKED : The belt in my son's 2007 G35 has already been used for 100K kms. (I will change it next year) The belt in my daughter's M35X has only been used for 50K kms. It looks good and much better than G35S's. So,... (I guess that Infiniti dealer just tried to earn my money!!!)

2. STEERING RACK LEAKING FROM INNER SEALS : This problem also has been found in my son's G35S and both problems exists since 7 and 9 years ago but the levels of the both power steering fluids NEVER dropped. So,...

3. ENGINE AIR FILTER REPLACE : They are K&N filters. Of course, they could look dirty but I will NOT clean them until they has been used for at least 50K kms. (Actually these K&N filters work better when they're dirty than clean. That's why I hesitate to clean them!!! They could let the air flow through TOO EASILY when they're clean...)

4. REAR SUB FRAME BUSHING LEAKING ONTO REAR DIFFERENTIAL COVER : This problem has also been found in my son's G35S. Unless you try to get 100% of the performance from the car, it's totally OK to have some flex on those bushings.

5. VEHICLE FAILED ALIGNMENT CHECK : Every car won't have a perfect alignment, 1-2 years after the alignment has been adjusted perfectly. (The previous alignment has been done over 3.5 years ago) It's totally acceptable to have slightly misalignment. The existing tires will been worn out and need to be replaced next year. Then, I will do another alignment for the car.

So, they still could NOT find any problem for the cars... (No fix is needed!!!)

PS: Like I said before... These Japanese cars are very reliable but they are not perfect, of course!!!

The Infiniti also checked the below items for my daughter's M35X and everything looked good...
