The -stans of the Silk Road trade routes

Central Asia is a subregion of Asia that includes Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The countries as a group are also colloquially referred to as the "-stans" as all have names ending with the Persian suffix "-stan" (meaning "land of") in both respective native languages and most other languages. The Silk Road trade routes crossed through Central Asia, leading to the rise of prosperous trade cities. This summer I’d love to explore these mysterious countries with Sunday Tours!
