Hello everyone!
I just bought a new iPhone 4 from apple store with 2yrs AT&T contract. I tried to sync with my laptop - Windows XP Pro with SP2; iTunes 9.2.1.5 - and iTunes cannot find my iPhone 4. It worked for 1 which it recognized iPhone 4 and went thru registration process. However, after I unplugged and plugged again, it never worked anymore.
Here are what I did:
installed / reinstalled and deleted all iTunes related folders files.
restarted PC
iTunes works
PC recognized iPhone4 as soon as it was plugged in
iTunes can't find the iPhone 4.
What gives?
any ideas will be very helpful
p.s. by the way, I went thru extensive search via Google and I used the steps which users posted in Apple Support Forums. None of those instructions work. :(
1) Go to Device Manager;
2) Plug in your iPhone;
3) Identify what device comes up when you plugged in your iPhone;
4) Uninstall that device;
5) Unplug and plug in again your iPhone;
6) Windows will try to install the driver again;
P.S. Upgrade your Windows to SP3 might be a good idea!!!

Thanks for your reply.
Sorry, I meant to say SP3 rather than SP2. It was late last night to type the SOS email :)
I also uninstalled the Apple Device Manager. Plugged it, and it recognized. However, the iTunes just does not see / seem to identify my iPhone 4 at all.
I finally tried to use Windows Vista in VM and it works. However, I would like to get the iTunes working on my laptop so I don't have to depend on the VM.
