經過調查後, 原來顯示訊號的程式計算格數完全出了錯 , 承認apple的計算公式某些時候比真正訊號多了兩格,
所以有些時候在很弱的信號的地方 以為掉格很多 其實是根本原來高格數的信號顯示就是錯的
為了修正這個問題 已經根據AT&T提供的訊號計算公式來製作一個更準確顯示訊號強度的程式.,並把bar 1 2 3
做得更高一點.
既然這個問題早就出現在3G 3GS,所以同時我們會把這個釋出的免費的程式也用在這兩個機型上.

Upon investigation, we were stunned to find that the formula we use to calculate how many bars of signal strength to display is totally wrong. Our formula, in many instances, mistakenly displays 2 more bars than it should for a given signal strength. For example, we sometimes display 4 bars when we should be displaying as few as 2 bars. Users observing a drop of several bars whipen they grip their iPhone in a certain way are most likely in an area with very weak signal strength, but they don't know it because we are erroneously displaying 4 or 5 bars. Their big drop in bars is because their high bars were never real in the first place.
To fix this, we are adopting AT&T's recently recommended formula for calculating how many bars to display for a given signal strength. The real signal strength remains the same, but the iPhone's bars will report it far more accurately, providing users a much better indication of the reception they will get in a given area. We are also making bars 1, 2 and 3 a bit taller so they will be easier to see.
We will issue a free software update within a few weeks that incorporates the corrected formula. Since this mistake has been present since the original iPhone, this software update will also be available for the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G.

但這篇聲明有非常奇怪的疑問,
1.如果真的是iphone3G 3GS 早就有的問題,這也不是一天兩天了,那為何經過好幾年才發現呢?
2.若顯示格數比真正訊號多的話,那意思是很早就在作假囉? 讓人家以為AT&T訊號很好嗎? 這點不是更奇怪了!
3.如果以後用了新的更新程式後 不滿意的話還是可以30天內拿完整無損的iphone4去退貨嗎? 這點似乎要再
講清楚一點.
所以我認為Apple終於回應這個問題
只是經過大家的不斷反映甚至AT&T官司纏身後 Apple恐事端擴大後的一個權宜之計
一方面模糊 4G硬體收訊特別容易被蓋掉方面的問題,一方面在顯示格數方面做文章.
但update後的軟體是否能讓收訊改善呢?
相信在短期內應該又有新的進展吧,大家可以拭目以待.
不過
如果以後使用者還是擺不平的話 我猜Apple遲早要面對它們硬體的問題的.
畢竟軟體只是忠實的顯示硬體的問題. 在軟體上動手腳真的不是可以自圓其說的.
但這件事發展到今,
讓我們由當出希望早早拿到,到慶幸臺灣不是排在第一批的,這也是始料不及的"利多"吧... 世事難預料阿
