之前因為Shazam(聽歌辨識歌曲的軟體),

[開箱] iTunes Gift Card

因為台灣的store沒有, 所以用美國的帳號, 但是買軟體時會很麻煩.
所以特地請朋友由美國買,
買了一包10x4, 和一包15x4的, 然後購買時皆可以打8折, 也不用含稅...
蠻划算的...

因為我註冊US的store是寫NY的地址, 買了後還會被收9%的稅,
不知道是不是如果填寫免稅州的地址, 就不會被課稅了....

huh? I don't think they tax any purchases from App Store.

By the way, Gift card is tax exempt because it is just converting cash into an electronic money (gift card).

I think the original post meant that iTunes charge you taxes while buying an app...
no when converting gift card points.
Would someone give us an answer?

Apple AppStore does not charge tax on buying Apps. I live and registered my itune acct in my home state.

If they did charge tax, I would be taxed because Apple's HQ is in CA and I live in CA too.

不是喔，
是各州決定要不要針對網路付費下載的消費行為課稅，
跟網路購物 warehouse 出貨地點決定稅率有所不同。

這是幾年前慢慢開始發展的，
應該就是 iTunes Music Store 音樂銷售市佔逐步上升、CD 銷售下降之際，
各州的財政當局也看到付費下載音樂似乎成為趨勢，
既然 CD 課不到了，就有了課徵所謂 "iTunes tax" 的構想，執行上當然是涵蓋其他的業者，
而大家看後來 iTunes Music Store 都擴展成有音樂、電視、電影、軟體的 iTunes Store 了。

幾年下來，好像很多原本不課稅的州也加入了！

Oh... Interesting...

I think the "Seller" for that app (for example, Dr. Driller) might live in NY as well?
