Sorry for typing English since it is the only font allowed on my working computer.
After working outside of Taiwan in US for years and having chances to work with many mainlanders (most of them highly educated), I agree with your experiences and observations. And the results you can easily see is: People across the strait rarely get together and social unless necessary.
