Many people think iOS 11’s battery issues are Apple’s clandestine attempt to sell newer phones - but the reality is much less ridiculous, or entertaining. Spotlight, the iPhone’s universal search bar lets you look for anything on your phone quickly and easily, but to do that, it has to initially index all the content on your smartphone. And when some phones can store up to 256GB data, that’s a very time-consuming and power-consuming task.
