昨天我有問一些英文問題,經過板上英文達人們的解惑,真的是獲益良多~
然而剛剛起床無聊就在看點英文,突然發現有一句話,我自己有點小疑問想問大家....
Not only is it the law, but the noise won't stop until you do.
(我大概了解這句話的意思:這不僅是法律規定,而且這個聲音在你做這件事之前是不會停止的)
但是看完這句我有一個小疑惑,就是為什麼第一句裡的Not only is it the law,為什麼是is it,不是it is呢?通常會用到is it應該只有疑問和倒裝句,但是這句話肯定不是疑問句,所以他是倒裝句嗎?
【考點】 not only...but also...連接兩個並列分句時，前一個要倒裝，後一個不倒裝。但連接並列主語或併列謂語時則不用倒裝。
例如：
Not only is the son fond of watching cartoons, but the parents take great interest in them.
Not only she but also her husband does housework on weekends.
Eric not only speaks but also writes well in English.
