It's just memory. I heard some of those oldies in various TV or movie, got curious and actually listened to oldies station for a few months.
For example
That was the first time I heard what a wonderful world. A pretty red-haired girl in my German class introduced me to this serie. She loaned me her books and the video tapes for me to watch. Back to the future also introduced me to some oldies.
