加州警察只需要高中畢業, 有錢一點的城市會要求大學畢業(給的薪水多一點). 考試不難過, 但要考體能. 體能不過一定被刷掉, 然後讓體能好的依成績錄取. 安啦, 美國警局幾乎永遠在徵人 (年薪五萬五美元, 退休金不錯, 但是不一定有這福分去領退休金. 條子因公受傷, 還會被警局以[不符體能要求]把傷殘者掃地出門. 警局是靠市政府拿錢, 市政府可沒這麼仁慈, 開善堂來照顧傷殘警察.

CSI LV, CSI NY, CSI Miami 大家都看過吧? 電視上美國條子都是義勇急先鋒, 打擊犯罪不遺餘力. 不過呢, 事實上美國小市鎮警察 (City of SB) 的和台灣警察沒什麼兩樣, 喝咖啡, 吃甜甜圈, 看報紙, 上網. 遇到失竊案一樣推三阻四, 根本不想管.
1. 其實失竊案也不難辦, 派出一個 CSI, 灑粉, 燻快乾膠, 取指紋, 照相, 建檔, 留下竊犯的指紋與犯案時間...
2. 結果打 911 , 911 說竊案不緊急, 然後要我打給SB市警局 12343567.
3. SB 市警局 12343567 接到報案投訴後說他們只是 squard car unit (車巡單位), 取下竊犯指紋不關他們的事, 踢皮球要我打SB市警局 23435678.
4. SB市警局 23435678 說他們只是 CSI, 不受理市民報案, 更不會為了抓偷車賊而去採指紋. 所以又踢皮球要我打給 SB 市警局 34356789.
5. SB市警局 34356789 先問我是否要向保險公司辦理賠, 我說毛賊只是拆走輪子, 大概不值得為了兩三百美元和保險公司耗上幾天. SB市警局 34356789 要我先等一下, 這一等就是另外二十分鐘 (大概是找報案表格吧!?). 然後問了約略失竊時間, 車型, 輪胎尺寸....
6. 然後我問這位先生(條子): [ 那麼 SB 市警局會對這案件如何處理?] 他回答: [Basically, we do NOTHING but KEEP the record about your stolen property.] 基本上, 我們(SB市警局)啥也不幹, 只是知道有賊偷了你的財物.
7. 報個竊案搞了一個半小時, 打了四五個電話號碼, 最後就是根本在裝死. 這種混吃等死的公務員(加州 SB 市警局)去麥當勞端盤子都會被開除! 乾脆自己在車庫裝高壓電, 直接電昏竊賊還比較實際.

We would have solved this issue a long time ago if not for obstructionist liberals like Schwarzenegger along with the rest of Dem legislature who want to triple the car tax and add another 1.5% to the sales tax (and put some counties' sales tax over 10%). Sorry you filthy communists, We The Taxpayers are tired of throwing money down the hole every year so that education and law enforcement mafias can live large no matter the economy.

I can proudly say that i did not vote for a single incumbent running for state assembly or senate, nor did i ever vote for this muscle brained moron in the governors office. a sufficient number of you did however, so you returned to office the very incompetent greedy blood sucking politicians who have gotten california to its present condition.
