Thanks for your congrats. :)

I know 70K a year is not the best offer. However, for a "technician", I think it is good enough. Also, I will not limit myself as technician. My target has set on management.

The first job is always hard in America, because I am non-experience worker. I really appreciate God gives me this chance, even I am still a under graduate student.

Well, let's hope Mr. Bush can get more tax cut this year :P 30% is always the biggest pain for "single" person :P I guess this is why everyone wants to get married so bad lol...

BTW: yeah, I have moved out from the parents' house since I was 12th grade in HS. So I need to control my expense...

Eternal Life,

I think the living expensive is not that hight in SC thou. I think you can save a lot of $$. :)

It does not matter how much your annual salary is. The bottom line is, it is the matter of how much you can save.

good luck in your first job. It is always tough to get a first job in US. As you mentioned, once you started your first job, the next one would come to you slowly, and smoothly.

I would suggest you to stick with the first offer (as you have already accepted the offer). The 2nd job is only 4k annually more than the first one. It is just 333.33 (before-tax) extra per month. I do not think it worths for switching to the 2nd one.

By the way, what was your major in university?
Superfire,

Thanks so much for your advise. I just talked to a M.D, and he has the same idea as mine. I am looking for the potentialities. In another words, I want to stay and grow with a company which has more potential markets. The first offer is the one which matches my goal. They need a bilingual person to be on the position of Customer Service.

However, I think I will still go the 2nd interview. It doesn't hurt to do that. Maybe later on, I can ask the first company that there is another company giving me $?? offer. See if they can match up the price. If the first company's answer is still a no, I will still stay with them.

Altho, South Carolina's living standard is not as high as the major big cities in US, however, you know how the gas price is these days. Once gas price goes up, everything in store follows up. I just checked our gas price this morning. It increases 20 cents again. Bloody Hell, that means next time when I refill my Mustang, there will be $2 extra more on the screen.

My major is Electronic Engineering. May I ask where do you live? :>

Eternal Life,

I live in So Cal. The lowest grade of the gas is around 2.9x.

True... you have nothing to loss for having an interview with other company. At least, you might find out they might have a better offer (the total package).

EE is a good major. May be, in the future, you might want to work in my company as an engineer. We have a R&D department in our company for our product. I can't compare my current employer with my previous one. My previous one is a very big and very aggressive in business. However, I was tired of the traveling... too much of traveling on the road for 6 yrs. :(

somedays, I will find a job in Taipei and work there for few years. :)
