白話一點，我們可以說cdm0, cdm1光學捨取機構的耐用度幾乎和「大同電鍋」並駕齊驅，1982年到現在，超過40年了，很多老cd player裡的cdm0, cdm1還是頭好壯壯，recap一下（換電容、電阻、皮帶之類的），又是一尾活龍。像Pinky25tw46大大一樣有自行更換能力的用家實在令小弟羨慕。
簡單來說，菲力浦的cdm0有single-beam（日本sony是3-beam） swing arm （日本sony是直線軌道）system、德國Rodenstock（成立於1877年，是德國研發鏡片長達143年的品牌）玻璃鏡片，cast-iron（鑄鐵）機構（cdm1改成壓鑄鋅），這些在在都是經典設計，符合"over-engineered"誇張一點的形容。
