My boss is a very old white man... When he was buying his new Mercedes, he told us he would not buy any AMG cars because AMG cars usually were less reliable than non-AMG cars... I think M cars are no exception...
PS: We also suggested our boss to buy an AMG car because he had the money... It seems he didn't like AMG cars at all... If you think my boss drive cars slow, then you're WRONG... Actually he drives cars quite fast even though he is very old now and older than I...
I may NOT be right... I just tell what I thought here... I don't drive THAT fast or race with other cars... (It's too dangerous on public roads)
OK for transmission. Yes. DCT is very fast. I also can choose different response on it... That's very good.
I drive fast but not THAT fast... Like 99% of drivers one half second doesn't really matter to me when driving on public roads... I think if you race with other cars on race tracks... Then one half second may really matter to you... Actually if I drive my GSF on race tracks, I would have fun instead of racing with others... In addition, if I really race with others, I think the first thing is "Improve my SKILLS, not my GSF"
So for me GSF's 8AT is very good, responsive and smooth... I also think it's also definitely a bit better than Nissan/Infiniti 7AT... (Nissan AT is slower...) Of course, CVT is still smoother than this 8AT but the difference is minimal....
PS: You may need to change to sport or sport+ mode if you are really in a hurry. Once you enable those modes, 8AT becomes aggressive(it can read your mind smartly) and your car can feel very responsive... Of course MPG will also suffer...
Today I drove my GSF on the same mountain roads where I drove M4 last week and I also drove faster than that M4... (because GSF is my current daily car. I have more confidence in driving it fast...)
I confirm that my GSF handling is as good as M4... I think the limitation is not on GSF but on roads because it's too dangerous to drive that fast on mountain roads... (you never know if there may be a stand still human or vehicle at the next turn...)
I think GSF chassis is REALLY good... It's very fun, quiet and comfortable... It also has very good MPG...(the trade off is its engine response feels slower... Of course if you floor it, it will wake up immediate and become super fast... And when cruising and following other cars on highway M4 feels much more easy and responsive...)
GSF is also MUCH MUCH more quiet than M4... When I drove 2019 ES300h, I think that ES was so quiet and more quiet than my GSF.... However, when I drove M4... Wow! My GSF is SO QUIET!!! The main source of the noise on both GSF and M4 is tire noise...because they both come with very wide and sticky performance tires...
My wife also said M4 let her get car sick... and made her almost throw up...(I didn't drive M4 very fast last week...)
Today I even drive GSF faster than M4 but she didn't complain everything... She just said my GSF was so comfortable and always let her feel sleepy...
I think she REALLY hates that M4... I think my new toy from Toyota is so good, so fun, so cheap and so reliable... Every time I think about my GSF I always have a BIG SMILE on my face!!!
PS: I never think Toyota can make such a wonderful toy(car) for me IN MY LIFE!!!
I think current IS and GS are also very good... Of course my GSF is better but on public roads the difference is not that big except more powerful engine and wider tires... However, I do believe my GSF should perform much faster on race tracks...
I think Japanese were slow in the past but they finally catch up now... Actually the slowest is the BEST... As I said before they will reward your waiting in the future....
My wife also said those seats in GSF were actually VERY VERY GOOD... Those seats are not only comfortable but they can also secure her body very well when driving fast on mountain roads which are MUCH MUCH MUCH better than those in M4...
In addition my wife and I both think that M4 has much worse reflections on windshield in a sunny day... We never had this issue in our previous and current Nissans and GSF....
It becomes quite dangerous when that issue happens. I think we only can accept Japanese cars now...
