Test Drove the ES300H yesterday at Zhongli. At low speed, (less than 60km/h), this car is superb, quiet and well composed. I think the battery weight at the back actually help to balance the car well. At mid speed, well, it is still OK, much better than Camry type or other Toyota. At high speed, (higher than 120km/h), this car shows its limitation as front wheel car, slightly unstable, as compared with back-wheel drive car. Yes, when slowing down, there is a noise from the hybrid engine, not too disturbing, it is almost like the sound from the tires when your tires is not round, that ground grinding noise. Overall, despite its luxury interior, the ES did not impress me well as I still feel somewhat floating. It is a tremendous improvement over previous generation but this is a car that does not apprecaite aggressive driving. The test car, has a annoying sound coming from the driver side safety belt anchor point, which is a bad publicity for Lexus car quality. I am sure this is a singular incident. I appreciate the class leading quietness of the car, and I still think this is quite a good car. You do not feel this is a big car once you drove it. Yes, agreed, the roofline is low and can be uncomfortable to some, but it keeps the car looking young and nice proportion. Will I buy it? Emmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I am thinking hard because I tend to love the dynamic of Volvo V60. Yes, this are two different car, ironically, my two final choice so far. Hope this help. Lexus is great when you drive slowly and steadily. Be a good man. Drive safe.
