Today I drove GSF again. I confirm that ES300h's steering is good also. GSF's steering is better but NOT MUCH. I read many professional car reviews, they all said that GSF's steering on highway was quite good. Now I wonder how good M3 and M5s' steering are? Are M3 and M5 really that good? Maybe I'm not good enough to feel the difference? I did feel the difference but the advantage is subtle (for me)... I think I need to rent a M3 to confirm it.
I think my G35S with Bilstein PSS10 does provide more feel and weight which gives you more confidence and is important in spirited driving. However G35S is very old and a little bit loose now. GSF and ES300hs' steering are sharper...
I guess I really need to put an expensive Ohlins coilover on my GSF. Otherwise I will NOT happy...
I think both ES and GSF are good cars. ES is more comfortable and quieter than my GSF. ES's CVT is smoother. So NO CAR is perfect!?!
I agree. ES handling is not bad. If I consider its softness for comfort and quiet, I would say its handling is GOOD. However I still think Q50 is stiffer and a little more fun... (I'm NOT SURE now. I have to test them again or you can test on your own. I'm old now. I think younger people may have better sensibility... )
I also think this ES300h is NOT slow. I drove it with two adults on board and it was quite easy to hang on with my wife's M35X(no passengers) on the highway.
The 0-96 test on ES was 7.73. Actually I think the real performance should be better than 7.73. Why? Because when I full throttle on ES, it paused(delay) for almost the first second. I guess the initial delay was caused by CVT. So if I deduct that one second delay, the real number should be near 7 seconds.
If you don't believe my test, you can try on your own. Actually doing 0-96 test on ES is quite easy. You just need to FLOOR it and see the result. There is no tire spin at all. In addition ES is FWD. No sideways and very safe... (I can do it even with my eyes closed!?! No! I didn't close my eyes... just joking!?!)
