外觀上牛味相當重,還好骨子裡還是SUBARU

老4AT確定由CVT接棒了,不過5AT依然健在...

Guys, I've seen the car in real yesterday...
I saw and sat in a new Outback in black with beige interior.
The front end and headlights are similar to the blue car shown in that Japanese Magazine, but the rest is completely different.
The Outback (which, I think, will be similar to Legacy wagon apart from details, due to cost reasons) has a strong D-pillar (and not the flowing-window design all previous generations had), which make it look like a crunched Mazda 6 wagon or a softer Lexus RX from the side.
The rear is very similar to Exiga's and not anywhere as elegant as on the scoop pictures. The car doesn't look like a Subaru from the front and side.
The bold wheel arches are as seen on the concept and look good, plastic cladding is gone completely.
Interior is taken from the concept without the expensive or weird gimmicks.
It looks very good and solid indeed. Seats seem similar to earlier generations, steering wheel is light and nice. The car has window frames as the other new Subaru models.
There's no room for a third row, just the standard cargo area. The cargo floor mat and mechanics seem to be identical to the old model. (Just exactly the same handle on the floor for spare wheel access.)
The car doesn't look like the Legacy and Outback we know.
It's a Mazda-Lexus-Saab blend. And as far as that, it's okay.. but not typical Subaru anymore (which worked well on the Forester).
Beautiful? No.
