there is a problem with Subaru's symatrical drive. the front wheel has to be push backward and the engine will be mounted way forward to the front wheel. the car would be head heavy no matter how they design it.
VW 4-motion came from Audi Quattro and BMW doesn't have as much experience as other company building 4WD, never heard anything impressive from x-drive
It seems like pp always want to bring BMW in watever topic it is, that's really funny
Subaru's STI always has better weight distribution than Mitsu's EVO and both these 2 heavy head cars still have way better potential than many cars in terms of perforamce

what i was saying is that if Subaru want to claim their system is superior, they should compete with something at least famous in that area. not necessary BMW or Audi, they can compete with Range Rover, Ford, Honda or even Hummer, Jeep those real 4X4 system.
non of the car they compete with is famous for grip.
i think subaru is a great car. however, i think they just stop improving for many years. 10 years ago when they got their rally win, it was one of the best drive system available, the H4 engine is also one of the best at that time. but 10 years later, the improvement is very little i think.
