Yes I know might be strange but no devices not even a meter on my bike. I love to use maps that I can hold, draw and measure the distance on and if I ever lose my way I ask to local people how to get on the right road.
This way I connect more with local culture.
But in the middle of the desert I guess we won't have the chance to see people but the side of the road so yes we will get those maps on GPS.
